How to Choose Cold storage panel?

Dimensions of Common Cold Storage Panel
Generally speaking, cold storage panel is pre-manufactured in the factory. They have fixed length, width and thickness. Cold storage with high and medium temperature usually adopts wall panels of 10cm thickness. The low temperature cold storage and cold freezing room usually adopts panels of 12cm or 15cm thickness.


How to Choose Cold storage panel?
So, if you don’t customize the panel, you shall pay attention to the density of the panel and the thickness of the steel plate which is usually above 0.4mm produced by the professional cold storage panel manufacturer. The foaming density of the cold storage panel is 38KG-40KG/M3 as per the national standard.

Raw Materials of Cold Storage Panel 
Thickness of the steel plate on the two sides, foaming density and the load bearing ability of the cold storage panel influence its quality.
  • Foaming Density

Cold storage has a high requirement for the temperature, humidity of the environment. It is necessary to pay attention to the material and the thermal insulation performance of the panel. Cold storage panel is mainly made of polyethylene(PE), polystyrene(PS) and polyurethane(PU). After foaming, the polystyrene will become a insulation material with low density and low insulation performance; the polyethylene(PE) will become a insulated material with appropriate density, good insulation effect and high load bearing ability. The polyurethane(PU) panel is a material with the best insulation effect and higher price.

If the foaming density of insulated panel of the cold storage panel is higher, it is required to increase the dosage of polyurethane when foaming, which increase the thermal conductivity of the polyurethane panel and decrease the insulation performance and increase the cost; if the foaming density is too low, the load bearing ability of the cold storage panel will decline.


  • Thickness of Steel Plate

Some manufacturer reduce the thickness of the applied colored steel plate in order to save cost, which will directly influence the service life of the cold storage panel. So it is necessary to confirm the thickness of the colored steel plate when selecting the cold storage panel.
